Research & effectiveness of Inflaboost DHA
Inflaboost DHA has a broad and fantastic range of applications based on many years of research. It's a multifunctional product that can help many horses improve their well-being. It is a highly potent anti-inflammatory Omega-3 fatty acid with a DHA content of 11%. Inflaboost is completely withdrawal-free compared to many other anti-inflammatory supplements. It is produced from a pure, vegan algae that is microencapsulated to retain its nutrients in the best possible way, giving it better durability than liquid alternatives.
Why add Omega 3?
Many horse feeds contain high levels of omega-6 fatty acids, such as from soy, corn, and rapeseed (canola), but not enough omega-3 fatty acids, leading to an imbalance. Omega-6 increases inflammation, while omega-3 has anti-inflammatory properties. Therefore, it's important to feed a high-potency DHA supplement to add omega-3 to the diet.
A selection of research on Omega 3 from microalgae for horses
- EMS is an inflammatory condition where horses often suffer from obesity, insulin resistance (IR), and in many cases, laminitis. Research on EMS horses fed with DHA-rich microalgae showed that after 46 days, improvements in metabolism and insulin response, as well as reduced inflammation, were observed.
- Several studies also indicate that supplementation with the omega-3 fatty acid DHA, extracted from algae, can have positive effects on broodmares by improving uterine health. Foals born to mothers supplemented with omega-3, starting 60 days before foaling, had higher levels of omega-3 compared to other foals. DHA intake also improved sperm mobility in stallions, both before and after chilling or freezing.
- University of Florida studies showed that pregnant mares supplemented with DHA during pregnancy and lactation resulted in offspring with enhanced learning ability and improved working memory.
- Kansas State University found that exercise-induced pulmonary hemorrhage (EIPH) in Thoroughbreds in training was reduced after feeding them with DHA supplements for 83 days.
- Benefits of DHA reported by the University of Liège in Belgium included increased circulation in red blood cells of horses supplemented with DHA and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) in their diet for four weeks.
- Several studies indicate that omega-3 supplementation in horses can improve everything from coat quality to protection against allergic conditions and inflammations.

"Now I've been feeding Inflaboost for almost 3 months, and I'm incredibly pleased with the results! When I started with Inflaboost, both of my ponies were on stall rest due to laminitis, and the situation felt quite hopeless. They were in pain and not feeling well. One pony also has mild stiffness issues in her front knees that come and go, and the other has had problems with her back muscles showing stiffness in the hindquarters (the vet hasn't been able to diagnose).
