Feeding tips and care for stronger hooves
How can I help my horse get stronger hooves?
A common problem many horse owners experience is issues with the horse's hooves. Everything from poor growth, weak hooves, thrush, and holes in the white lines are examples of common problems. The hoof is the part of the horse that bears their entire weight when in contact with the ground. For the important shock absorption between the foot and the ground to function properly, the horse must have a well-shaped and healthy hoof. And that requires regular and properly performed hoof care. Even the diet or certain diseases can affect the hooves.
◻︎ Feeding - Ensure that the horse receives sufficient nutrition, especially protein, vitamins, and minerals that are important for hoof health. Horse feed containing high-quality protein and essential amino acids can be helpful.
◻︎ Exercise - Regular training, movement, and exercise help increase circulation in the hooves and promote good hoof health.
◻︎ Hoof care - Regular good hoof care, including trimming and balancing the hoof, can help promote good hoof health and prevent damage. The farrier can also assist horses with tools such as soles and shock-absorbing materials to help reduce the load on the hooves and assist with relief if needed.

In the image above, you see a horse that in August 2021 had issues with poor growth, weak hoof quality, and recurrent lost shoes. The feeding of Activ Mineral began then, and already in December 2021, a significant improvement in quality and growth was observed, with no issues with lost shoes.
