Horse feed supporting hoof health
A common issue many horse owners experience is problems with their horse's hooves. Everything from poor growth, weak hooves, thrush, and white line disease are examples of common problems. The hoof is the part of the horse that bears the full load during contact with the ground. For the important shock absorption between the foot and the ground to function properly, the horse must have a well-shaped and healthy hoof. This requires regular and correctly performed hoof care. The horse's diet or certain diseases can also affect the hoof.

Farriers recommend a vegetable source of oil for hooves for the best absorption and to make a difference for the hoof.
Treatment for very dry and cracked hooves:
√ Rinse and dry the hooves thoroughly.
√ Apply a generous amount of hoof oil to the outside of the hoof, as well as the entire sole and frog. Rub it in up to and including the coronet band on the outside of the hoof. Massage the hoof oil thoroughly into the coronet band.
√ Repeat every day for at least 8 days.
Then continue with daily application without moistening the hooves beforehand.
